Female Commuter Jumps Out of Car Window Due To Attempted Hold-Up Inside Public Taxi
A lady passenger jumped out of the taxi window to escape an attempted hold-up incident inside the public utility vehicle.
Taxi is one of the most popular public utility vehicles not only in the Philippines but also in different regions all across the globe.
Most people prefer to take a regular taxi for a faster and comfortable ride to reach their destination.
However, there are numerous commuters complaining about some taxi drivers over their alleged illegal activities.
Recently, a certain lady passenger jumped out of the taxi window to escape an attempted hold-up.
The female commuter was able to escape and immediately report the incident to the authorities although she endured minor injuries.
The suspect identified as Jake Destacamento admitted the crime and confessed the he was using illegal drugs.
“Paulit-ulit lang po nangyayari sa akin kapag bumibiyahe po ako ng taxi, pagdating ko po diyan sa Manila napapasugal po ako tapos hindi ko rin po maiwasan para sa mga gabi siyempre nagti-take din po ako ng drugs kaya nagawa ko po yung ganun,” Destacamento said.
According to the investigation, the taxi driver initially borrowed the passenger’s mobile phone to use Waze and eventually declared a hold-up.
The authorities arrest Destacamento on his home with the help of taxi operator and dispatchers.
