France Thanks Filipinos For Their Sincere Messages Following The Recent Fire Incident
FRENCH GOVERNMENT – Filipinos’ sincere messages after the Notre Dame fire incident reached the French government and they are grateful for it.
France’s government thanked Filipinos for their thoughtfulness last Tuesday.
Recently, a massive fire broke out in the historical Notre Dame church that burned most of its structure.

According to the French Embassy, President Emmanuel Macron of France promised to reconstruct the UNESCO world heritage Cathedral. The French Embassy in Manila would also like to express their gratitude towards the Filipinos for the sincere messages.

President Emmanuel Macron said that they are looking forward to rebuilding the ruined Catholic landmark in his statement:
“We will rebuild Notre-Dame because this is what the French expect, because this is what our history deserves, because it is our destiny.”
The fire broke out at the Notre Dame cathedral last Monday after the church’s visiting hours. It was reported that the church was undergoing renovation when the incident occurred.
Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or fatalities. The Philippine Embassy in France also checked with French authorities to know if there are Filipino victims after the incident according to the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Works of art housed by the cathedral were also saved from the flames. Including the Christian relic “Crown of Thorns” which is believed to be worn by Jesus during the crucifixion.
The sad and memorable fire incident struck millions of people worldwide. Many people also helped via donations in the reconstruction of the iconic Catholic Cathedral.
This includes monetary donations famous luxury companies like Total and L’Oreal. Several wealthy businessmen also pledged millions to help rebuild the ruined cathedral.
