SUMMER 2019 – Here are some tips to stay hydrated this summer 2019 in the Philippines.

On March 22, The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced the start of the dry season in the Philippines.

“With this development, the day-to-day weather across the country will gradually become warmer, though isolated thunderstorms are also likely to occur,” the agency said.

Surely, a lot of people will rely on the use of electric fan and air-conditioner just to avoid the sticky feeling of their sweats.

In a previous article, Dr. Maria Encarnita Limpin gave warnings about the dangers of using the mentioned appliances.

“May high risk na mag-spread ng infection kasi may mga bacteria na nagta-thrive doon sa aircon na nag-ca-cause ng mga typical pneumonia,” she said.

While on electric fans, she said to make sure it is clean and should be set to a rotation mode.

Another best way to overcome the summer heat is to always keep dehydrated. There are four kinds of water to choose from: purified, mineral, distilled and alkaline.

The Alkaline water can help lessen the acidity in the human’s body. So it’s very helpful for people who love acidic drinks.

Based on a report from Inquirer, adult females should drink 2.21 liters per day while the male should drink 3 liters per day.

It is suggested to bring bottled water everywhere you go and avoid using single-use bottles.

According to the report, avoid drinking sugary drinks like sodas, mango shakes or coffee. If you can’t resist yourself, make sure to match it with water.

Aside from that, be conscious of the color of your urines. If Its light yellow then you’re good and if it is dark yellow, it means you’re dehydrated.
