Surigao Del Sur Hit by Earthquake with 4.6 Magnitude

EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 4.6 magnitude quake in Surigao Del Sur today, March 15, 2019.

Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.

One of the latest quakes recorded by Phivolcs is the 2.4 magnitude quake in La Union. There were no expected damage or aftershock due to the said quake.

Recently, Phivolcs recorded another quake in PH. Today, March 15, 2019, Surigao Del Sur was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6.

According to Phivolcs, the quake that jolted a part of Surigao Del Sur was located 09.49°N, 126.03°E – 018 km N 20° E of Cantilan at 07:02:46 am. The quake was tectonic in origin and it has a 009 km. depth of focus.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that there are no expected aftershock and damage caused by the quake.
