A Catholic Bishop advised the Filipino people to choose and vote for honest candidates on the upcoming 2019 midterm elections.
Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos urged the public to choose candidates who were honest in both words and actions.
Santos emphasized in his homily during the National Migrants’ celebration that integrity and honesty are important in good leadership.
The Catholic Bishop statement came after Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio released a controversial remark saying that honesty in not an issue.
The presidential daughter who also serves as Hugpong ng Pagbabago campaign manager said on her statement that everybody lies.
Bishop Santos warned the congregation in Olongapo City to be more careful in choosing candidates who were honest in words and deeds.
The Church minister also warned the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to “Pick those who will not take advantage of your remittances.”
He also denounced the claim that Filipino workers are incompetent and lazy insisting the Pinoy employees are in demand abroad.
