Philippines’ Bet for Mister International Contest Makes it to Top 10 Best in National Costume
MISTER INTERNATIONAL – Philippines’ bet for 13th Mister International contest made it to the top 10 in Best in National Costume competition.
Philippines’ bet for the 13th Mister International is the 26-years-old Mark Kevin Baloaloa from Catanauan, Quezon.
The freelance liaison officer was hailed as Mister International Philippines 2018 last October 3 at the Music Museum in San Juan City.
Aside from competing to the Mister International competition, Mark Kevin Baloaloa also won the “Best Resorts Wear” award.
The Filipino contestant is competing against 38 contestants from around the world.
Based on a report from Manila Bulletin, the National Costume competition was held last Sunday at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.
The 38 contestants wore their national costumes inspired by their culture. They walk the runway accompanied by the explanations of their costumes and what it meant.
According to the report, the Prime Events Productions Philippines Foundations (PEPPS) director Richard Montoya announced the top 10 contenders for the Best in National Costume.
These competitive candidates are from Sri Lanka, Korea, Vietnam, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Mexico, Indonesia, Dominican Republic, Peru, and Philippines.
Award-winning fashion designer Michael Barassi created the Bakunawa-inspired costume of Mark Kevin Baloaloa.
Barassi stated that the Bakunawa is a Visayan folkloric story. The costume focuses not on a hero but to the people who worked together to fight the moon-eating dragon.

Based on the report, the winners of the special awards will be revealed during the coronation night of the 13th Mister International competition. It will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena this coming February 24.
The preliminary competition will be on February 21 in Ilocos Norte and the Charity Gala Night will be on February 22.
