Supreme Court Declares Work Suspensions On December 26, 2018 & January 2, 2019

The Supreme Court has finally declared and authorized the nationwide work suspensions on December 26, 2018 and January 2, 2019.

SC authorized the suspensions of work on December 26, 2018 (Wednesday) and January 2, 2018 (Wednesday).

The SC Public Information Office announced the additional two days through the entire country during the holiday season.

Work Suspensions

The declaration was made to give the judiciary officials and personnel the full opportunity to celebrate the holidays with their family and loved ones.

Memorandum Circular No. 54 approved by President Duterte declares the cancellation of work and classes in public school on January 2, 2019.

The Proclamation No. 555 signed by Executive Secretary Medialdea also declares January 1 as a regular holiday.

“However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services continue with their operations and render the necessary services,” the memorandum said.

  1. Unfair naman to. Sila lang ba ang tao ng Pilipinas ang may opportunity to celebrate the holidays with their family and loved ones? Paano naman kaming ordinaryong manggagawa? Sana naman para sa lahat na ng employees both government and private sectors.
