This is the reaction of Miss USA after receiving scrutiny for mocking Miss Vietnam and Miss Cambodia
Miss USA Sarah Rose Summers reacted after she received scrutiny for mocking her fellow Miss Universe 2018 candidates from Cambodia and Vietnam.
Summers was caught mocking how Miss Vietnam and Miss Cambodia speak the English language.
A video clip from an Instagram Live circulated on social media and netizens slammed how the candidate from the United States of America mocked her fellow candidates.
In the video, Summers was with candidates from Colombia, Valeria Morales, and from Australia, Francesca Hung.
Based on a previous article, these three Miss Universe 2018 contestants were saying that Miss Cambodia and Miss Vietnam are not fluent in English.
After receiving scrutiny from netizens for demeaning her fellow candidates, Miss USA reacted.
According to a report from E Online, issued an apology through her Instagram post.
She admitted that she said something unrespectful for her fellow beauty queen and so she apologizes for that.
“In a moment where I intended to admire the courage of a few of my sisters, I said something that I now realize can be perceived as not respectful, and I apologize,” Summers said.
She also stated that she never intended to hurt anybody.
“I am grateful for opportunities to speak with Nat, Miss Cambodia, and H’Hen, Miss Vietnam, directly about this experience. These are the moments that matter most to me,” Miss USA also said.
