Alleged Drug Protector Police Supt. Santiago Rapiz Dies In Buy-Bust Operation

Police Supt. Santiago Rapiz who was accused as the alleged drug protector in Negros Occidental died during a buy-bust operation in Dipolog City.

On Monday evening (November 5, 2018), Police Supt. Santiago Rapiz died in a buy-bust operation after he was shot by a member of Counter Intelligence Task Force (CITF) during a buy-bust operation.

Dipolog City PNP conducted the buy-bust operation inside the sports center at Andres Bonifacio College in Barangay Miputak, Dipolog targeting Rapiz who was playing a basketball game.

After Rapiz finished playing the basketball game, the transaction of illegal drugs inside the campus happened.

Rapiz allegedly resists the authorities and fought back, prompting a police officer to shoot during the operation.

The suspect was rushed to the Corazon Aquino Hospital but declared Dead-on-arrival.

The police superintendent was assigned in the province of Negros Occidental and serving as the chief of Victorias City Police Station, Escalante Municipal Police Station, and also heads the Police Community Relations in Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, and Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).

The culprit is one of the seven police officials who was dismissed from the post for their alleged involvement on illegal drugs.
