PLDT To Activate First 5G Cell Site City In The Philippines
PLDT, the country’s largest telecommunications services would activate the Philippines’ first 5G cell site city in the Clark Freeport Zone.
On Monday (November 5, 2018), the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) would make Clark Freeport Zone, the former US military reservation as the first 5G area in the country.
The telecommunication giant would build the first 5G City in Clark during the month of November 2018.
The digital services company said that the venture has been already signed by PLDT’s mobile arm Smart, Ericsson, and the Clark Development Authority.
PLDT and Smart chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan said that the program would not only benefit Clark but also the entire country.
“This will benefit not only Clark but the country as well by demonstrating that we are in step with the rest of the world in adopting advanced intelligent technologies,” Pangilinan said quoted by ABS-CBN.
PLDT said that they equip all the residents Clark with 5G after rolling up LTE in the area.
CDC President and CEO Noel Manankil explained that the first 5G city in the country would not only benefit Clark but also many industries and businesses.
