Nora Aunor Speaks Up Over Not Receiving "National Artist Award"

NORA AUNOR SPEAKS – The show business industry’s Superstar Nora Aunor finally breaks her silence after she was not able to receive a “National Artist Award”.

Superstar Nora Aunor is undeniably one of the most iconic stars of the country’s showbiz industry. She is very well-known for the roles she played in films and shows such as Himala, Thy Womb, The Flor Contemplacion Story, Banaue, and a lot more.

Throughout her career as an actress, she was hailed as FAMAS’ Hall of Famer having 17 nominations and winning five Best Actress awards, and most nominated actress of Gawad Urian Awards with 20 nominations, winning seven.

However, despite all these successes as an artist, everyone got shocked when she was not able to make it on the list to receive a National Artist Award. President Duterte proclaimed 7 new national artists and one of them is the composer, musical director, and conductor Ryan Cayabyab.

With her name dropped out of the list again as a National Artist Awardee, here’s what the Superstar Nora Aunor has said based on the official statement she sent to Radyo Inquirer:

Sapat na po sa akin ang respetong natatanggap ko sa mga kasamahan ko sa trabaho. Kung gagamitin lang naman ang National Artist para pagpyestahan at hamakin ang mga personal kong pagpupunyagi sa buhay – ako na po ang nakikiusap na itigil na po natin ang lahat ng ito. Ano ba naman ang isang award kung kapalit naman nito’y ang paulit-ulit na paghamak sa pagkatao ko at sa mga taong naniniwala sa akin? Mas makakabuti pong ipagpatuloy na lang natin ang paglikha ng makabuluhang pelikula at mga awit na magsisilbing inspirasyon sa ating mga Filipino. Mas masaya ako kung mapapabuti pa natin ang industriya ng pelikula, kung matutulungan natin ang mga bagong filmmakers at mga mang-aawit kasama na ang mga beteranong aktor at aktres, mga direktor, mga manunulat, na mapagbuti ang kanilang sining.
