The purple chili in Barangay Orong, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental is now making rounds online after it was posted on the social media.

Recently, a Facebook user named Michelle Tapangan has uploaded the photo of a purple-colored chili found in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

The photo shows a new variety of native chilies, which has a purple color similar to the delicious eggplant.

Tapangan’s post has 5.2k reactions, 18,723 shares, and over 1.6k comments as of this writing.

An agriculturist Atty. Japhet Masculino explained that the purple-colored fruit is only one of numerous varieties of chilies.

“Iba’t ibang variety. Iba’t ibang klase. May mga kulay pula, meron ding dilaw. May hugis pahaba, meron ding pa-circular,” Masculino said.
