Transgenders Joining Miss Universe Gains Reaction from Gloria Diaz
GLORIA DIAZ – Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz expressed that she is not against transgenders or transgender women joining the Miss Universe.
Actress and 1969 Miss Universe, Ms. Gloria Diaz is also the mother of the famous vlogger and newly-mom Isabelle Daza who gave birth to a beautiful baby boy via caesarian section.
Based on a report from PEP, during the press con of her upcoming TV series Pamilya Roces that will start airing this October 8 on GMA-7, an interviewer asked the beauty queen a great question.
Gloria was asked if she will she still join Miss Universe in case she’ll be given a second life. The beauty queen answered, “If you can assure me I will win”.
According to Gloria Diaz, Miss Universe is still the most prestigious beauty pageant. She also expressed that being a beauty queen is becoming a job already.
“In my own opinion, Miss Universe is the most prestigious, but I don’t know now,” she added.
Gloria Diaz shared her comments about the innovations of Miss Universe over the years. She said Miss universe has taken a different path. Candidates who have undergone plastic surgery nowadays can even join.
The beauty queen also gave her opinion regarding the transgenders joining the prestigious pageant.
“Ako, I have nothing against that. Gusto ko nga iyan, e,” she said.
However, she doesn’t know how it would affect the competition when usually only females are allowed to join that pageant.
Based on the report, Miss Gloria Diaz admitted that she’s been judging few transgender beauty contests and she admired their beauty even up close. She stressed that just because you’re a transgender, it doesn’t mean you cannot be beautiful.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe recently include the first ever transgender woman to join the pageant, Miss Spain Angela Ponce.
