Vice Ganda slams the suggestion of Tito Sotto to revise the last line of Lupang Hinirang

‘It’s Showtime’ host Vice Ganda slammed Senate President Tito Sotto’s suggestion to change the last line of Lupang Hinirang.

The lawmaker suggested that from “ang mamatay nang dahil sa ‘yo”, it should be changed to “ang ipaglaban kalayaan mo.”

Sotto was under fire on social media because of this. The Senator fired back by posting his message to those who are against his proposal.

Following the negative comments, the senator rested his case but he said he still prefers the version of Joey Ayala.

Several Filipino celebrities also criticized the suggestion of Tito Sotto. One of them is Vice Ganda.

On his Twitter post, the comedian-host slammed the 70-year old lawmaker.

“E kung palitan na lang yung last line ng national anthem ng ‘Ang matraffic ng dahil sa’yo’??!! Mas keri ba?” Vice wrote.

Several Twitter followers of the Kapamilya star also agreed to him.

Some netizens said that Vice Ganda‘s suggestion is much better than the suggestion of Tito Sotto. Others commented that the Senator should be changed instead and not the last line of the Philippine National Anthem.

One netizen even shared a meme featuring the statement from Sotto who is also a host in GMA’s noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga‘.

The meme also showed the supposed answer from Vice Ganda who happens to be the host of Sottos’s rival show, ‘It’s Showtime‘.
