A DILG official revealed that only 30 percent of Boracay establishments could reopen after the six months of rehabilitation on October 26, 2018.

On Monday (August 20, 2018), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said that about 30 percent of establishments in Boracay Island could relaunch in October.

Interior Secretary Epimaco Densing III said that DILG was aiming to connect at least 30 percent of Boracay establishment to the sewer system and their own sewage treatment plants.
