Meet Graynne Angel Edralin-Panitan, The First-Ever Filipina Driver In Saudi Arabia
Meet Graynne Angel Edralin-Panitan, the first-ever Filipina driver to roam along the highway of Saudi Arabia.
Graynne Angel Edralin-Panitan can’t believe that she was the first-ever Pinay to drive along the roads of Saudi Arabia since its government allowed female residents to drive.
Over the past few decades, most females in Saudi Arabia were dreaming to drive their own vehicle and not to rely on male drivers.
Panitan also shared on how she was able to acquire her driver’s license, which she considered as one of her greatest achievements in life.
“Nabalitaan ko na pwede na pong mag-apply for license. Hindi pa po ako nag-start noon, nag-open pa ako ng websites, mga bloggers, na nakakuha na ng license. Doon ako nakakuha ng idea from them. Sinundan ko lang yung steps nila. Fortunately, meron naman akong license from Philippines, na mas madaling way para makakuha ako ng license dito sa Saudi,” Panitan said quoted by ABS-CBN.
The Pinay driver is a native of Dagupan City and currently working as medical admin coordinator at King Saud Medical City in Riyadh.
The Filipina migrant worker has a child with her husband who is already working in Saudi Arabia for already 10 years.
Angel explained that she submitted a medical certificate for her eyes, blood group, blood type, copy of iqama, and a license fee of 200 Saudi Riyals or P2, 800.
