Undeniably, two of the women who have left marks in the history of the Philippines are Congresswoman Imelda Marcos and Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran.
Marcos is the widow of the late former President Ferdinand Marcos, the 10th national leader of the Philippines. As the first lady, she also had her projects and her own foundation. She also went on official visits as the de facto vice president.
However, based on a report, former first lady Imelda Marcos and former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos were accused of having “ill-gotten wealth”.
Philippine Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has previously expressed that the Marcoses are willing to return the wealth. According to him, the Marcoses said that the former President was only protecting the economy of the Philippines.
Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran or Margarita Roxas Moran-Floirendo in real-life is the second Filipina beauty queen who was able to bring home the Miss Universe crown.
Four years after Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz brought pride and honor to the country and the Filipino people, Margie Moran, who was 19 years old during that time, won the same prestigious event which was held in Athens, Greece. She was also hailed as the ‘Miss Photogenic’.
Imelda Marcos and Margie Moran have previously met before. Recently, they met again and the Miss Universe 1973 took to her social media account a then-and-now photo of her with the former first lady.
