The Chiong Story: Meg Imperial Lashes Out At People Badly Criticizing The Film

Meg Imperial lashed out over criticisms for film Jacqueline Comes Home: The Chiong Story.

CHIONG STORY – The actress Meg Imperial lashed out following silence on criticisms for the film and for the people who condemned them for accepting the roles.

Despite the fact that a life imprisonment and the due guilty verdict was given to the accused of the crime, the brutal and dark case about the murder of the Chiong sisters still lingers and remained unclosed.

And the dark and mysterious case was relived in the present after Ysabelle Peach Caparas directed Jacqueline Comes Home, a film based on the real case of Marijoy and Jacqueline.

In a previous report, Donnalyn Bartolome, the actress who will play Marijoy’s character, defended the film against those accusations that the film was biased and that they did not do proper and broad research to feature both sides of the story.

The sisters were kidnapped, gang-raped, and murdered and reported missing on July 16 of 1997 whereas Marijoy’s body has been found two days after they went missing and Jacqueline’s body was still not found up to this date.

The suspects were called “Chiong 7” and all of whom are members of a wealthy clan from Cebu City.

Upon accepting the roles, the netizens started hitting the actresses who played the roles of the sisters – Meg Imperial and Donnalyn Bartolome.

But Imperial seemingly could not hold it anymore after receiving all the criticisms and comments which accordingly sort of condemning them, the actresses, for playing the role.

As featured on the Instagram stories of the actress, she has stated, “Bakit ang artista binabash nyo rather than the justice that you guys are so into? Why not the government if you want change? Or action regarding that matter? Why us? Do you think dahil sa ginagawa nyo may naitulong kayo kay Paco? Kami ba na mga artista ang nagpakulong?”
