On this day (July 12), Philippines has won the arbitral case against China, but somebody posted these controversial tarpaulins at Metro Manila footbridges.

Scarborough shoal has been the most controversial topics worldwide due to the dispute between Philippines and China over the island.

On July 12, 2016, the Philippines won the exclusive sovereign rights over the West Philippines Sea and invalidated China’s “nine-dash line” claims.

However, President Rodrigo Duterte has settled the issue with Chinese President Xi Jinping and signed several documents for their agreements.

Recently, a Twitter user named Florin Hilbay has expressed his reaction on the photo of tarpaulins posted at Metro Manila footbridges with the words written:

“Welcome To The Philippines, Province Of China”.

Hilbay expressed his disappointment and dismay towards the people responsible for posting the tarpaulins.

He also urged the authorities and ordinary citizens to immediately remove the tarpaulin.

Florin captioned the photo with”

“NOT FUNNY. On this day, July 12, we commemorate our victory in Philippines v. China. On Metro Manila footbridges, these tarps suddenly appear. MMDA, LGUs, and citizens should immediately take these down.”
