Kris Aquino Not Running On 2019 Elections
KRIS AQUINO – Actress-endorser Kris Aquino revealed the advice of her elder sister Ballsy Aquino-Cruz on running for a position in the government.
Actress Kris Aquino was recently hooked on an issue with Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson. Based on a report, the actress reacted after the PCOO ASec. involved her late father Senator Ninoy Aquino in defending President Rodrigo Duterte.
Uson reportedly defended the controversial kiss of Pres. Duterte to an overseas Filipino worker in South Korea during an event. The Chief Executive kissed the Pinay worker on-stage. As per a report, defending the President’s move, Uson posted a video of Sen. Aquino being kissed by women.
Kris Aquino reacted to the move of PCOO ASec. Mocha Uson. Amid the issue, the actress broke her silence on the possibility of running for a seat in the Senate.
Kris Aquino expressed that the people “need a voice” and maybe her voice matters. On the other side, according to a report, the actress has also admitted that she has signed contracts that prevents her from seeking an elective office.
Based on a recent report in Pep, during her guest appearance on Cristy Ferminute in Radyo Singko 92.3 News FM, the actress clarified that she cannot run on the 2019 elections.
According to her, she is not allowed to run in the upcoming election as she will have to return money for unfinished contracts. She has deals with big companies and she stressed that she cannot afford it.
“We computed. Times two pala ang isosoli ko, Nay [Cristy Fermin], sa kontrata kung hindi ko tatapusin,” she said.
Based on the report, aside from the contracts that prevent her from seeking an elective office, Kris Aquino expressed that she cannot enter the political arena yet as she is not simple and she has growing business investments.
“Kailangan kong mag-divest ng negosyo din… 14 branches ngayon ang Potato Corner at Nacho Bimby, dalawa ang Chowking. Marami pa akong pinapasuwelduhan. Ang KCAP, palaki nang palaki. So, once tumakbo ka, goodbye sa lahat ng yun,” she said.
According to Kris Aquino, even her elder sister Ballsy Aquino-Cruz told her that she is not yet ready to run for an elective office.
“Sinabi niya na, ‘You can only be ready Krissy if you can be as simple as mom,'” the actress revealed.
Meanwhile, based on the report, Kris Aquino is not totally closing her doors towards politics in the future. In case she will run, she eyes her platforms to center on providing jobs and healthcare to Filipinos.
