Netizen Shares Heartbreaking Story of 75-Year-Old Pedicab Driver Working Despite Old Age
A netizen has shared the heartbreaking story of a 75-year-old pedicab driver who still works despite his old age and poor health condition.
Senior citizens were supposed to stay at home or roaming around enjoying the remaining years of their life after working for decades.
Children should also take care of their old parents who weren’t able to the things they were used to do when they are young.
Recently. A Facebook user named Zhinar Torrevilla has shared the heartbreaking story of an old pedicab driver that touches the hearts of netizens.
Torrevilla narrated that she decided to ride a pedicab after she went off from the jeepney and noticed Tatay Rudy, an old pedicab driver.
However, the other pedicab drivers who were much younger than Tatay Rudy were teasing the old man because of his capacity to drive.
The female netizen still decided to take a ride with the old pedicab driver and asked Tatay Rudy why he was still working despite his old age.
Tatay Rudy replied that he should work to earn money for their daily expenses since his children have their own family but he was currently residing with his son.
The old man was earning P7 to P10 per person who will take a ride with his pedicab although he was already weak because of his age.
Torrevilla was moved with the old man’s story and gave her remaining P30 to Tatay Rudy who teared up after receiving the payment.
The passenger said that the old pedicab driver is known as Tatay Ronaldo at Greenfield, Bacolod City, in Negros Occidental.
She also called the netizens who are willing to help the old man:
“Attention sa mga taong gustong tumulng.
Sa gustong tumulong kay tatay Pls pm me kasi andamidaming plano ung ibang tao tapos hinde ko alam kung ano ba talaga plano nila kay tatay . Mas mabuti na po na mag pm po sakin para sabay nalang tayong pumunta kay tatay kasi malapit lang ung bahay nila samin at ma tutulongan ko pa kayo na ihatid ung tulong nyo sa bahal mismo ni tatay. Thankyou po Godbless”
