Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat To Investigate Cesar Montano’s P80M “Buhay Carinderia” Project

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat will meet Cesar Montano to discuss of alleged corruption on P80 million worth of “Buhay Carinderia” project.

The Pinoy actor and now Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) head Cesar Montano faces issues and controversies regarding the ‘Buhay Carinderia’ project, which allegedly gets P80 million in less than a month under his leadership.

About 90 percent of the P80 million budget for Buhay Carinderia project allegedly paid to the advertising company Mary Lindbert International although it was far from completion.

The newly-sworn Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat heard the reports and said that she will meet Montano to discuss the issue.

Puyat said that she will discuss the accusations of corruption against Montano. She also said that the project did not go through bidding.

“First, I would like to ask him with regard to his budget, was there a proper bidding? Did you just give this to an organizer?” Puyat said quoted by CNN.

Buhay Carinderia is a food tourism project with Mary Lindbert International playing a vital role in promoting the gastronomic tourism in the Philippines.
