Zamboanga Bridge Collapse Bad Karma For Gov’t Officials, Kadamay Says

Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay) said that the Zamboanga bridge collapse was a bad karma for the government officials.

Over the past few days, the falling off a collapsed bridge in Zamboanga together with several government officials had been the headlines of several local news outlets and social media pages.

Rep. Alfredo Benitez, chairman of the House committee on housing and urban development, Zamboanga City Rep. On Friday (April 27, 2018), the urban poor group Kadamay said that the falling off a collapsed bridge was bad karma for the politicians after failing to act on the ‘dismal’ state of housing projects.

“NHA officials seem to have gotten a taste of their own medicine as they experienced firsthand the perils in government housing sites,” Kadamay said quoted by Inquirer.

The incident involving lawmakers and officials of the National Housing Authority (NHA) allegedly shows the seriousness of the problem facing government-built shelters.
