President Duterte Orders PDEA To Reveal Names Of Barangay Officials In Narco List
President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered PDEA to reveal the names of barangay officials included on his narco list or drug watch list.
On Wednesday (April 25, 2018), Aaron Aquino, director general of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that President Duterte gave the orders to reveal the names under the drug list.
Aquino confirmed that there are about 211 barangay officials who were included on Duterte’s so-called drug watch list.
On Tuesday (April 24, 2018), Mr. Duterte ordered the agency to disclose barangay officials on the list.
The names of barangay officials on the list were expected to be revealed to the public by Friday (April 27, 2018), according to a PDEA personnel.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said that barangay officials linked to illegal drugs will face charges.
The impending releasing of names of barangay officials came a few weeks prior to the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections on May 4 to May 12, and Barangay elections on May 14, 2018.
