Anjo Yllana Reveals Why He Doesn’t Believe that Friday the 13th Brings Misfortune
ANJO YLLANA – Quezon City District V Councilor Anjo Yllana reminisced his unforgettable boat experience with actors Richard Gomez and Aga Muhlach in Boracay.
Many people prefer to stay at home on Friday the 13th as they believe that lots of misfortunes are most likely to happen on that day most especially to those who are traveling. On the other side, there are those who do not pay much attention to it.
One of those people who do not believe that Friday the 13th brings misfortune is actor-turned-politician Anjo Yllana. It was Friday the 13th when the boat that they were riding in the island of Boracay sank.
Based on a recent report in Pep, Anjo Yllana was with actors Richard Gomez and Aga Muhlach and the late talent manager Douglas Quijano when the unforgettable incident happened.
Anjo Yllana could never forget that there were 13 of them who boarded the boat that sank. The said boat has a name, ‘Friday’, and it is heading to Friday’s beach resort.
Speaking to the source, when the boat capsized, the life vests were also under the water and they were not able to wear it. He revealed that only those who know how to swim just like Richard Gomez are swimming in the water.
“Ako kapit-kapit lang. Halos isang oras kami sa tubig… Yung banka na sinakyan namin, tumigil ang makina, tumirik,” he said.
Anjo Yllana revealed that there were those who passed by them twenty minutes after their boat capsized and they reported it. It was the coastguard who rescued the group.
Based on the report, the actor-turned-politician raised to the late Douglas Quijano the common belief that Friday the 13th brings misfortunes. The talent manager refuted the idea based on what happened to them.
“Sabi niya sa akin, ‘Hindi. Suwerte yung Friday the 13th, kasi walang namatay sa atin. Nawala man yung mga gamit, materyal lang ‘yan… Pero yung buhay ng tao, walang nalunod sa atin, kaya suwerte ang Friday the 13th. Yun ang isipin mo,” Anjo Yllana recalled.
