According to the FDA, the Belo Medical Clinic violated the “Section 11 of the Republic Act 9711, for offering and selling misbranded cosmetic products”.

On the part of the Belo Medical Group, John Eric Ho, the company communications head, expressed that they have “always ensured registration and renewal of registration” of all of their products. He tagged the inspection as “surprising and unfortunate”.

Based on the report, the FDA claimed that they have bought 11 medicines and cosmetics from Belo Medical Clinic and those products were not registered based on the Center for Drugs, Research and Regulation.

The agency also stated that any food, medicine, and cosmetic product sold in the market should pass by them first to ensure the safety of the people.

Based on the report, Dra. Vicki Belo’s medical clinic may also face other charges for allegedly refusing to have its pharmacy and clinic inspected. FDA-Regulatory Enforcement Unit Chief Allen Bantolo expressed that they may face “obstruction of justice”.

On the part of the Belo Medical Group, the company said that they are submitting proof to the FDA that they are abiding the agency’s regulation.
