US Health Expert Dr. Scott Halstead Warns Aquino Administration Of Dengvaxia Effects But Did Not Listen

A U.S health expert allegedly warned former President Benigno Aquino III regarding the possible effects of Dengvaxia vaccine but he did not listen.

A US-based scientist and a specialist in dengue research identified as Dr. Scott Halstead alleged sent a video to the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee giving a warning to the Aquino administration regarding the dangers of Dengvaxia.

Halstead’s video dated December 2016 warned the Aquino administration regarding the dangers of Dengvaxia after he heard the reports of mass vaccination in the Philippines.

The medical experts warned that the dengue vaccine must not be administered to seronegative individuals if the Aquino administration could not stop the mass vaccination.

The foreign dengue specialist sent the video to the local health advocate Dr. Antonio Dans explaining the possible effects of the dengue vaccine.

When given to somebody who has had one or more dengue infections, Dengvaxia boosts the immunity status and one is fairly protected. That’s wonderful. If you’re seronegative…and you get vaccinated, your first infection may put you in the hospital, and maybe worse,” Halstead said quoted by Mixfeeder.

Halstead also stressed that the administration should have at least screened the children first before administering the vaccine.

However, Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial said that screening the children would be very expensive and would negate the cost-effectiveness of the intervention.

Sanofi-Pasteur released the same information fifteen months after Halstead sent the video explaining the danger of Dengvaxia to seronegative individuals.
