Filipina Nanny Dina Tenerife Celo Receives House & Lot From Generous Foreign Employer As Gift
A Filipina nanny named Dina Tenerife Celo received a house and lot from her generous employer from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) were having a tough and difficult life working abroad just to earn a larger amount of cash to provide the financial necessities of their family.
They were also enduring the hardships and loneliness of working in foreign countries just to give their loved ones a brighter future.
The hardships of a 45-year-old Pinay nanny did not go in vain after her generous employer gave her a money to purchase a house and lot.
In 1994, Dina Tenerife Celo worked in Saudi Arabia but find no luck there. She went back to the Philippines and applied for another job in UAE.
Luckily, the OFW was hired through the help of a local agency and start to work for Melissa McPike’s in Khalifa City as a household helper last 1998.
Celo’s main job was to take care of her employer’s two children named Saeed, 6-year-old and Saif, 4-year-old.
Unfortunately, Celo’s two-year-contract with McPike has expired, but new opportunities came to her.
The Pinay worker also worked as a waitress, cashier, and other jobs, but remain her communication with Melissa McPike and its children.
At one point, Celo thought of settling for good in the Philippines, but McPike hired her again after 14 years.
In October 2017, the UAE employer rewarded the Filipina for her good service with Dh23, 000 or P320, 000, which she used to buy a lot in Tigaon, Camarines Sur under her only child’s name, Ryan, 21 years old.
“Mangiyak-ngiyak ako sa sobrang tuwa… ‘Di ko yun inaasahan. Randomly, inabot nalang ni Ma’am Missa ‘yung pera sa akin. Sabi n’ya alam daw nilang wala akong naipon man lang dahil tumutulong din ako sa pamilya ko. Sabi ni ma’am, pati ng mga alaga ko, hayaan ko daw namang sila naman ang magparamdam sa akin ng pagmamahal na ibinigay ko sa kanila,” Celo said.
The OFW was set to return to the country on January 18 together with Saeed to check the property and plan the house’s construction.
