PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Updates On Tropical Depression Agaton

Here are the latest weather updates regarding the Tropical Depression Agaton released by the state weather bureau PAGASA.

On Wednesday (January 03, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has released the latest weather updates about Bagyong Agaton.

The tropical depression has slightly slowed down and now moving towards the West Philippine Sea and last spotted about 175 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Agaton has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and could gusts up to 65 kph moving west at 25 kph.

The weather disturbance is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning (January 4).

Visayas, Bicol Region, Palawan, and Quezon could experience from moderate to heavy rains due to the tail-end of a cold front and the tropical depression.

The residents residing in the affected areas were advised to take safety measures and remain alert against possible flash floods and landslides. They were also urged to cooperate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices.

The weather agency also warned that venturing the oceans of Northern Luzon and Southern Luzon, the eastern seaboard of Central Luzon, eastern and western seaboards of Visayas, and the eastern seaboard of Mindanao remains risky due to the bad weather.
