John Paul Solano, Suspect In Atio Castillo’s Death Earns Senator Zubiri’s Ire

John Paul Solano, the primary suspect on hazing victim Atio Castillo’s death has earned the ire of Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri.

On Wednesday (October 18, 2017), Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri expressed his fury and cursed John Paul Solano, one of the main suspects in the death of hazing victim Horacio “Atio” Castillo III.

Solano earned the ire of the lawmaker after he sued to refuse to execute a sworn affidavit during the opening of the Senate public order committee on Castillo’s death.

“Do you want to disrespect our committee? Let me put on record the many instances where you testified right there that during the preliminary investigation of this incident…you will release your statement on what had transpired that morning when Atio Castillo died. Now I ask you again, ginag*go mo ba ang committee na ‘to?” said by Zubiri quoted by GMA.

The suspect explained that he was already prepared to present his counter-affidavit last October 4, but the complainants requested to move the hearing to file supplemental complaints.

The lawmaker believes that the suspect did not submit his affidavit because the members of Aegis Juris Fraternity prevailed him.
