Joey De Leon’s Sons Express Feelings Over Father’s Controversial Issue

Here are the reactions of the children of Joey de Leon over his recent issue.

JOEY DE LEON – Here are the reactions of Joey de Leon’s sons over the issue he recently got involved with about controversial comment on depression.

According to a previous report, it was during the segment of Juan For All, All For Juan on October 5 of the Kapuso network’s longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga! when the veteran uttered comments about depression.

However, the comment of Joey de Leon seems like was not well-received by the people as he had indicated, “Yung depression, gawa-gawa lang ng mga tao ‘yan. Gawa lang nila sa sarili nila.”

But the phenomenal actress Maine and love team Alden Richards opposed the veteran host’s idea and said that depression is not a joke most especially to the youth who are currently experiencing it and people who experiences such cases needs “moral support.”

Yet, Joey insisted, “Hindi, huwag niyo suportahan, gawa-gawa lang niya yun. Wala, nagpapasosyal lang. Kapag mayaman, depression. Kapag mahirap, wala, wala kang pag-asa sa buhay.”

Thus because of this, his sons Jocas de Leon, Jio de Leon, and Jako de Leon expressed their thoughts and feelings about the matter and their reaction had crossed the social media platform.

Here are their reactions below:

Jocas de Leon

He said this is in a post on his Instagram account, “We accomplish more together by learning from and kindly educating one another rather than insulting and aggressively offending one another.
I purposely did not click on any trending topics or engage in any online conversation yesterday as I figured some, a few or a lot would quickly throw insults and crass, rude comments without first understanding the nuances of an individual’s mindset, background, or of a situation. We all experience life differently and life forms us all differently, resulting in differing viewpoints and belief systems. The important thing, however, is to respect one another and to try to cultivate a positive understanding of one another which would hopefully lead to a productive discussion of the issues at hand. So last night this is what we did — we discussed yesterday’s events as a family… in an atmosphere of love, respect, understanding, acceptance. We all know that even within a single family unit, different opinions abound. But in the face of these differences, we hear each other more loudly and see each other more clearly if each one of us comes from a place of kindness, gentle tolerance and sincerity. I wish everyone well (actually dunno about those with nothing but hateful talk.I especially wish well those who have openly expressed their own personal struggles with depression. I hear you. I see you. I understand you. And to my dad @angpoetnyo — I hear you… I understand you because I KNOW YOU but above all, I LOVE YOU… sooooo freaking much!! I will always, always, always be here for you…

Jako de Leon

He posted this on his Twitter account, “It’s not how we make mistakes but how we correct them that defines us.”

Jio de Leon

Jio said in one of her Twitter posts, “Take difficult moments to open a discussion and to educate and to talk, instead of throwing hate and bashing and cursing.”

What can you say about this?

  1. Kids are well mannered. Hope the father learns his lessons and reforms from now. Mistakes are made as wake up calls. God bless.

  2. May tama naman si Mr. Joey! Opinyon nya yun wag nyo pakialaman. Try to become poor and become rich and be in the middle cl(removed) you will understand him. Tama sya pag sa mahirap wala lang pero pag mayaman at nasa middle eh super big deal ang depression kasi sila madaming nagagawang kung anu anu… You are the master of your soul and the captain of your body kaya kung depressed or stressed ka sayo na yun, unless caused by foreign things. We poor people are within the depression everyday of our lives but we chose to lived! Even if we dont have many things even sometimes we have no food for ourselves, we still moved forward. Kayo nga jan mga bashers kung makacomment din kayo ng kung anu anu. Comment nya yun eh biniBig deal nyo.
