Charice Pempengco’s Grandma gave her side on her move to change her name.
CHARICE PEMPENGCO – The grandmother of international singer Charice Pempengco has broken her silence over the recent controversial move of her granddaughter.
Based on a previous news report, singer Charice Pempengco has recently changed her name to ‘Jake Zyrus’. The move follows the report that she and her girlfriend Alyssa Quijano are over.
The decision of Charice has sparked lots of news headlines and elicited various reactions. One of those who have given their side over the international singer’s move is her grandmother.
Recently, a video showing the intense message of Charice’s grandmother to her crossed the Facebook page Pambansang Kolokoy.
In the video, the singer’s grandmother expressed that the name that is being recognized still is Charice Pempengco and not Jake Zyrus.
She told Charice that she has covered her before and she was the one who washed her when her first menstrual period came.
“Babae ka. Dito sa dibdib ko kita inihihiga pag ikaw ipinatutulog ko,” she said with tears in her eyes.
Based on the statement of her grandmother, Charice became a millionaire and she and her mother left her grandma behind.
She expressed that when the singer’s father died, she wanted to change her surname but she did not won. Her grandma expressed that she will never win.
The crying woman also told her granddaughter in the video that she will have the NSO of Charice located.
“Ipinanganak kang Charice Pempengco, mamamatay kang Charice Pempengco,” she said.
The video went viral on the social media and lots of netizens expressed their reactions to it through comments.
According to a Facebook user, the family of Charice should be the first people to understand her and respect what makes her happy.
Meanwhile, in a comment to the post, one netizen stated that Charice Pempengco’s grandmother really has a point as it is wrong to change what the Lord has given us.
