At Least 5 People Died, 17 Others Injured On Rizal Road Crash
A tragic road crash killed 5 and injured 10 people in Taytay, Rizal when a 10-wheeler container truck has smashed a tricycle terminal and row of stores.
On Saturday (June 17, 2017), Taytay Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) chief director Elmer Espiritu reported a road crash in Taytay, Rizal. The tragic accident happened around 9:45 am.
The incident takes place on Cabrera Road, which killed at least 5 people and injured 17 people when a 10-wheeler container truck plowed the row of stores and tricycle terminal in Taytay, Rizal.
Taytay Police Chief Supt. Samuel Delorino said that two men and three women died in the road crash including a 2-year-old child. The corpse of two men and two women were brought to the Manila East Medical Center, while the female deceased victim was brought to Mayor June V. Zapanta Emergency Hospital.
The truck has a plate number of “TBP 967”as it lose its control after attempting to overtake on a tricycle. Espiritu said that the incident was recorded in a CCTV installed in the area showing how the truck plowed the tricycles and row of stores.
“Base sa recording ng CCTV, yung container truck pababa siya… sa unahan niya may dalawang tricycle. Ngayon nandito na sa may baba diyan sa may puno ng Acacia, iniwasan niya yung tricycle sa unahan niya. Pag-iwas niya ng pakanan, nahagip pa rin niya [ang tricycle] tapos hindi niya na nabawi, dumeretso na dyan sa mga tindahan,” said by Espiritu quoted by GMA.
13 injured victims were rushed to the Taytay Emergency Hospital, while four wounded victims were brought to the Manila East Medical Center. Two other victims were not yet identified including a child.
The authorities were already investigation regarding the incident as of this writing.
