Items Found On Belongings Of Suspected Abu Sayyaf Member

The suspected Abu Sayyaf member Saad Samad Kiram was arrested in Bohol and here are the items recovered by the authorities from his belongings.

On Thursday morning (May 04, 2017), Saad Samad Kiram, 36-year-old, a suspected member of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) was arrested by the local military police in barangay of Tan-cloud, Tubigon in Bohol, according to a police report.

Saad was looking for food and clothes from the house of a resident in the area. A resident in Tubigon fed the alleged Abu Sayyaf member in his house and called the attentions of the military troops from the 41st Infantry Brigade to arrest the suspect, according to Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Central Visayas Deputy Chief Hector Amancia.

Kiram traveled using a pump boat going to Inabanga in Bohol from Sulu in Mindanao. Police and military launched an operation against the Abu Sayyaf group in the attempt to kidnap tourists during the Lenten Season.

The operation of the authorities killed at least 9 members of the rebel group, including the native of Bohol who supposed to lead the kidnap plan.

The government military troops and Abu Sayyaf clashed last April 22, 2017, in Tubigon, which is located 16.7 kilometers from Clarin. The local authorities recovered a caliber .45 pistol with 2 magazine, hand grenade, a watch, six cell phone batteries, two sim cards, coffee, lighter, wallet with P4, toothbrush and a toothpaste on his belongings.
