ARJAY AVILA – The authorities arrested Arjay Avila alyas ‘Sakristan’ for selling illegal drugs in a church in Pili, Camarines Sur.

Based on a recent report in ABS-CBN News, the 27-year-old drug suspect was caught with illegal drugs in a ‘grotto’ of Christ the King Parish in Barangay Palestina.

Arjay Avila was adopted by a priest in the said Parish according to police Chief Inspector Chito Oyardo. He said that three sachets of illegal drugs were taken from him.

“Sampung taon na itong ampon ni father sa Christ the King,” the police chief inspector said based on the report.

The result of the examination conducted by the Camarines Sur crime laboratory in the three sachets taken from Avila turned out positive. Those sachets contain illegal drugs.

The suspect allegedly threw the two sachets upon having hints that the people whom he is doing a transaction with are police authorities.

He is now faced with a charge over violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Based on the news report, Avila graduated with a marine course with the help of the Church. The 27-year-old suspect refused to give his side.

Father Danilo Vargas clarified that Avila has never been a ‘sakristan mayor’ or a ‘sakristan’ in the said Church.

According to the priest, Avila has stayed in his mother in Peñafrancia but he already finished his schooling in Mariners Polytechnic College.

It is stated in the news report that Avila is residing in Manila and he just came to visit his sibling. The schooling of Avila’s sibling is also funded by the priest who does not know that ‘Sakristan’ is allegedly involved in illegal drugs.

Based on the report, the sibling of the 27-year-old suspect believes that he was just framed-up.
