Palarong Pambansa 2017: Who Are The Heroes Behind The Sports Event?

The silent heroes behind the Palarong Pambansa 2017 revealed.

PALARONG PAMBANSA – There are lots of silent heroes behind the Palarong Pambansa, the biggest national youth sports event.

The spotlight are often focused on the participants of the Palarong Pambansa. However, aside from the participants, there are other people who also deserve the spotlight as they work hard for the success of the event.

Based on a recent news report in Rappler, there are atleast six people who are sacrificing much for the sports event – Sherly Heredero, Susan Piansay, Hannah Bibianco, Alex Mamaril, Carlo Calungsod, and Dr. Jocelyn Imbang.

1. Sherly Heredero

Sheryl Heredero is a 38-year-old teacher who helps in the event by taking care of the Sepak Takraw Girls Secondary Team. She makes sure that the quarters of the players are clean and she is considered as the mother of the athletes.

According to her, they also teach the kids values aside from equipping them with knowledge and skills.

2. Susan Piansay

Based on the report, it was when Susan’s three children became athletes that she began to love sports. To show her thankfulness to the activity, she serves by cooking dishes to the athletes thus making sure they get enough nutrients.

According to Susan, it is already her “passion” and it makes her happy.

3. Hannah Jane Bibianco

This 8-year-old girl treats the sports events as an opportunity to make money through the scraps scattering on the ground. According to her, she is happy when there are lots of people. She added that more trash means more junks to weigh.

4. Alex Mamaril

This 46-year-old principal and technical official has been part of the sports events for ten years already. Based on the report, Alex said that he is happy to fulfill his dream to officiate in Palaro and to bond with the other officers once a year.

5. Carlo Calungsod

Based on the report, Carlo is a 49-year-old traffic enforcer who finds happiness in his job which ensures the safety of the sports event’s delegates. According to him, he feels happy although it requires him to do overtime.

6. Dr. Jocelyn A. Imbang

This 55-year-old dentist sacrifices her own health to fulfill her responsibilities and to make sure that there is someone who will attend to the situation in case emergency happens.
