Based on the report, a security guard found the 41-year-old maid and called the police authorities. The cops then arrived and confronted the woman.

The police spokesman expressed that the domestic helper was suspected of taking away 50 pieces of clothes worth around HK $30,000. She was nabbed.

According to the report, ‘a police source’ expressed that the clothes that were allegedly stolen by the 41-year-old domestic helper were all for women.

In 2016, there were 25,628 reports of theft recorded by the police. Compared to the 2015 record, it is a 6.8 fall from year 2015’s 27,512 reports of theft on the city.

Based on a previous news report in the same site, there was also a similar incident in Hong Kong which happened before the 41-year-old Pinay Overseas Filipino worker was nabbed for alleged stealing of her employer’s clothing.

A 40-year-old Filipino OFW, Mildred Nilo Ladia, faced accusation of stealing an Agnes b bag and two pairs of leather foot wears but the charge was not pushed through by the prosecutors as the employer was reportedly hospitalized.

Ladia was fined an amount of HK$ 800 (P5,130) after she admitted that she had eaten the meatballs of her employer, Gekko Lan Suet-ying, worth HK$100 (P642).

The lawyer of the Filipina worker tagged the charge against Ladia as “devastating” as she will not be able to find a job in Hong Kong again.

Before she was nabbed last year during the month of May, the domestic helper expressed that her wage of HK $4,210 (P27,000) faced a deduction of HK $100 by her employer.

It is stated in the report that Ladia went abroad to be able to provide the needs of her three kids. She has also previously worked in other countries such as Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore before she worked for Lan in 2015.
