The mom of the doctor slain in a municipality in Lanao del Norte shared about her son’s passion.

MOM – The mother of Dr. Dreyfuss ‘Toto’ Perlas who was recently slain in a municipality in Lanao del Norte spoke about the passion of her son.

Based on a recent report in ABS-CBN News, teacher Leovigilda Perlas, the mother of the barrio doctor who was killed by a gunshot in Lanao del Norte, expressed that Dr. Perlas, even when he was still in school, is passionate about extending help to other people.

According to the mother, her son would often engage in outreach programs and give whatever he can.

Based on the report, it was in 2011 when Dr. Perlas graduated from his medicine course and a year after he became a Doctor to the Barrio (DTTB) program volunteer and was deployed in Sapad municipality in Lanao del Norte.

Mrs. Perlas aired out her anger towards the unidentified person who shot her son with no reason while the doctor was on his motorcycle.

Based on the report, Dr. Perlas often shares his activities to her mother through text messages every night. The mother expressed that she felt worried on Wednesday when not a text message from the barrio doctor was sent to her.

Based on a previous news report, Police Chief Senior Insp. Melvin Loquinte expressed that the doctor was on his way to Lala town when the gunman shot him. According to the police inspector, the incident happened at around 7:30 on Wednesday eve.

Moreover, the police inspector said that he was along Barangay Maranding Annex when the Dr. Perlas was shot. He expressed that at first, the people who saw the incident thought that the driver of the motorcycle who fell had a heart attack.

According to the report, on Wednesday, one netizen tagged Dr. Perlas as “superman doctor” in her post.

Princess May Sienes of Sapad took to social media her reaction to the incident: “Superman Doctor is dead”. She also expressed that the doctor is a “big” loss and has saved many people.

The 31-year-old Dr. Perlas is the eldest of two siblings and a native of Batan town in Aklan province. According to the report, the President of the Batch 30 of DTTB program expressed that the doctor had been receiving warnings from unknown people.

The family and friends of the slain young doctor seek justice for his death.
