AGUIRRE APOLOGIZES – Department of Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II expressed an apology to those who did not like his remarks during a rally held at Quirino Grandstand in Luneta.

Recently, a news report entailing the surprising act of DOJ Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II broke in. Based on a report in ABS-CBN News, the Justice Secretary spoke to the supporters of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte at Luneta during a rally and asked them:

“Sabi niyo may gusto kayong isunod? Sino? [You said you wanted someone to go next. Who is it?]”

The people responded to the quest of the Justice Secretary and shouted back: “Trillanes”. Undeniably, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV is one of the most vocal critics of the 71-year-old President.

According to the news report, there were members of the Senate who compared the DOJ Secretary to a “perya barker” and to Pontius Pilate.

In a DZMM radio interview with Noli de Castro, the Justice Secretary said that the senators have the right to comment. Based on the interview, it was Sen. Grace Poe who called the DOJ Secretary a “perya barker”.

“Mga ganyan pong comment may karapatan po siya, ang mga senador, hindi lamang po si Sen. Grace Poe,” said the Justice Secretary.

Moreover, Sec. Aguirre said that he just repeated what the emcee during the event has said and that the issue is only a small one and others just make it a big deal.

“If for them my comment for that particular incident was not appropriate, sorry na lang and I’ll be more tactful in the future.” Sec. Aguirre said based on the news report.

It is also mentioned in the news report that the rally wherein the DOJ Secretary made the remarks which sparked lots of news reports happened a day after the former Secretary of Justice and now Sen. Leila De Lima has been arrested.

Based on a previous new report, the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 204 has issued warrants of arrest against the neophyte Senator, Ronnie Dayan, and Rafael Ragos.

Dayan is the alleged “bagman” of Sen. De Lima who is now facing allegations of involvement in the drug trade when she was still the DOJ Secretary. He is also the former lover, driver, and bodyguard of the lady Senator.

Sen. De Lima is currently detained at the Camp Crame after she surrendered herself to authorities last Friday morning. Before she was arrested, the Senator spent the night at the Senate which is in contrary to the previous plan that she will spend the night at her residence to be with her family.
