Duterte Reveals Kris Aquino Appealed To Him Via Text Message Not To Send Noynoy To Jail

DUTERTE – During a speech in Pasay City, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte revealed that actress Kris Aquino, the sister of former Pres. Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III, texted him.

The investigation regarding the Mamasapano clash which happened in 2015 and took the lives of 44 brave Special Action Forces (SAF) cops is not yet over. The incident which left the country in grief in 2015 happened under the term of former Pres. Aquino.

Recently, news reports entailing the revelation of Pres. Duterte regarding the text of the former President’s sister to him broke in.

Based on a recent news report in ABS-CBN News, the 71-year-old President revealed during a speech in Pasay City that actress Kris Aquino texted him and appealed to him not to send her brother behind the bars.

Pres. Duterte also shared his response to the prominent actress and TV host. According to the news report, the President expressed that he wants to find the truth why the cops who were trapped by the rebels were not able to receive back-ups but he has no plans to send the former President behind the bars.

“Si Kris, nag-text, sabi ‘huwag mo naman ipakulong si Noynoy’. Sabi ko, ‘No Kris, I’m not out to find fault. I just want to know the truth,’” the President said based on the report.

Furthermore, Pres. Duterte also expressed that he has no plan to send the former officials to jail as he is not used to sending people who are not his political allies to jail. “I just want to give the Filipino the truth,” Pres. Duterte said.

According to the news report, the President also made an announcement that he is no longer pursuing a commission that would probe the incident as the Office of the Ombudsman is already examining it.

“I don’t want to have a multiple incongruity especially if one finding fights with the other. So, hintayin ko na lang [I’ll just wait],” Pres. Duterte said.

In a previous news report, it is stated that former Pres. Aquino has already sent a statement in which he cleared out certain matters regarding the Mamasapano incident.

In his statement, the former President clarified the duty of the SAF and justified why it was the Philippine National Police which led the operation.
