ABS-CBN Apologizes To PAGASA After Offending State Weatherman Over A Bad Joke

ABS-CBN has apologized to Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) employees over a TV gag show’s bad joke.

Television network ABS-CBN had apologized to the weather bureau over the bad joke their TV show “Goin’ Bulilit” last Sunday (November 13, 2016) episode. The giant TV network said that they have given another acronym to Pagasa in the context of a joke and the agency should not take it as criticism.

The weather bureau employees were hurt over the bad joke of the show pointing to an unreliable weather forecast. PAGASA stood for Palaging Guess At ‘Lang Saktong Announcements, said by a child actor during the show. The joke was loosely translated to wrong information and only wild guesses.

Bad Joke

On Monday (November 14, 2016), a public apology was demanded by PAGASA employees to the producers of the comedy show for belittling the weather bureau and endangering public safety.
