Ferdinand Marcos’ Youngest And Only Living Sibling
Fortuna Marcos-Barba, the youngest and the only living sibling of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos said that she was glad for his brother’s burial at LNMB.
FM’s sister said that she was glad on Supreme Court’s decision because finally her brother will be buried at the “Libingan ng mga Bayani.” She said that Ferdinand deserves the hero’s burial and she mentioned that her brother was both a soldier and a president.
Fortuna said that the former president is now probably happy this time because one of his wishes in his last will and testament had come true. Marcos’ final will states that his remains will be “buried according to the rites established by law and with dignity suitable to my position and other personal circumstances.”
Ferdinand Marcos was also described by Fortuna as a caring and loving brother to her while he was still alive. Fortuna was youngest among Marcos’ siblings, Ferdinand was the oldest, followed by Dr. Pacifico Marcos and former Ilocos Norte Governor Elizabeth Marcos-Keon. They are the children of lawyer Mariano Marcos and teacher Josefa Edralin-Marcos.
