BPO Companies To Expects More Opportunities On Duterte’s Partnership With China
President Duterte’s partnership with China can provide more opportunities for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies in the Philippines.
An official said that as the Philippines shift away from their main client United States, the country is now searching for a foreign client base including China. Philippine can deliver animation, game development, and operations for software that will be required by consumer base in the most populated country in the world.
“If you go back in our previous roadmaps when the market was majority in US market, we diversified to Europe, Australasia, and some parts of Asia-Pacific. Hence, this is an opportune time for us to be able to look at other opportunities,” said by Danilo Reyes, board chairman of the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) quoted by ABS-CBN.
$24 billion in investment pledges was brought by the president after his four-day state visit to China last week to restore the relationship that was earlier strained by disputes I the West Philippines Sea. Also, Duterte went to China to boost the economic ties between the two countries.
