Chinese Coast Guard Stopped Filipino Fishermen, Again

The Chinese coast guard blocked Filipino fishermen from entering the Panatag Shoal or the Scarborough Shoal once again.

In a report in GMA’s ‘Unang Balita’ on Friday, it is said that there are four Filipino fishing boats that have been driven off the shoal. Also, they added that the coast guard nearly bumped the fishing boats and even honked at them.

Another thing that the Chinese coast guard did as what the fishermen have said, is that they cut the boats’ anchors.

There is also an alleged threat given by the Chinese coast guard to a group of fishermen that the boats of the fishermen will be holed for them to sink.

In a testimony by one of the captains of the boat, he said and confirmed that the number of Chinese vessels is growing at the Bajo de Masinloc or the Panatag/Scarborough Shoal.

The Malacañang Palace already stated that Filipino fishermen can “test the waters” in the disputed region, as Chinese Ambassador Zhao Jianhua already said that Beijing is open discussing the matter.
