China Allowed Filipino Fishermen To Enter Panatag Shoal

China allowed Filipino fishermen to enter Panatag Shoal (Scarborough or Bajo de Masinloc) in the West Philippine Sea to fish.

Fisher folk In Subic, Zambales announced the good news saying that China has already allowed them to enter the disputed area after Chinese Coast Guard chased away Filipino fishermen for four years.

Fishing is the livelihood of some people in Zambales they said that it will be a big opportunity for them to catch fish again in the area. Big fishes such as talakitok, maya-maya, and lapu-lapu can be found in the shoal.

China Allowed Filipino Fishermen

Chinese fishermen were spotted by Philippine force gathering marine species in the area since then the Philippine Coast Guard and Chinese Navy had a standoff on the shoal last April 2012. The President asked China to allow Filipino fishermen to resume fishing in Scarborough Shoal in the West Philippines Sea before he sworn.
