Pres. Duterte to Prioritize the 20 Million Poorest Filipino Families

The incoming administration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte revealed during a meeting with his Cabinet members that one of his priority is to help the 20 million poorest Filipino families in different parts of the country. The priority of Pres. Duterte is in helping the poor families was confirmed by the incoming Department of Health Secretary Pauly Jean Rosell-Ubial.

According to Health Secretary Pauly Jean Rosell-Ubial, her marching order from Pres. Duterte is to give priority to the 20 million poorest families in the Philippines to avail of the national health service provided by the DOH.

Under the Duterte administration’s plans, they will implement a standard on giving medical services to ensure that those poorest families can access the service offered for free by the national government through the Department of Health.

Health Secretary Ubial also promised to Pres. Duterte that she will personally monitor the implementations of various DOH programs across the country. The DOH will also give priority on how to solve the absence of access by the poorest families in the said medical services as well as she will make measures to ensure the availability of medicines in various LGU’s and other government facilities.

During the campaign period of President Rodrigo Duterte he promised to do his best in order to help the majority of Filipinos who belongs to the poorest of the poor to avail of various government services for free and easy access to such service should be felt by ordinary citizens.

According to the official statistics of the Philippine government more than 26 million Filipinos remain poor with almost half, or a little more than 12 million, living in extreme poverty and lacking the means to feed themselves. The figure was also confirmed by incoming Socio-Economic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia.

  1. Maganda pong action yan ng ating Pangulo. But Prevention is better than cure…We sholud give them the basics: FOOD, SHELTER, CLOTHING, EDUCATION…. so immediate righteous action should be instructed to DSWD…kaya ang karapat-dapat na tao ang ilagay sa ahensya…hindi politico, hindi elite… yung totoong matulungin …sanay sa mainit na panahon para hindi laging nasa aircon offices…
