Veteran actress singer and Television host Karla Estrada defended her son with Rommel Padilla, Daniel Padilla over a controversial heckling incident in Iligan City that went viral during the past few hours. The “Magandang Buhay” host also denied the allegations that Daniel Padilla walked out of a concert.
In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN, Karla Estrada was quoted as saying “It is not true. Tinapos niya iyong show. Kumanta siya ng maayos kasi bale wala naman iyon,” Estrada said of the rumors in an interview with ABS-CBN News’ MJ Felipe on Thursday.
Daniel Padilla made headlines anew on social media and on mainstream media when a video uploaded on Facebook by a certain Kenneth Talosig Ringor IV posted on May 31, went viral online showing Padilla losing his temper after a gang of hecklers allegedly threw him the middle finger while performing one of his most popular song cover of Rivermaya’s original hit song “Hinahanap-Hanap Kita.”
The Facebook user who posted the viral video on social media also claimed that the 21-year-old Daniel Padilla stormed out of the stage afterwards.
According to Karla Estrada’s explanations, her son DJ or Daniel told her he was not bothered by the heckling, even if he called the attention of security personnel and pointed at the group in the crowd because of the incident.
“Bilang nanay, automatic sa iyo na ipagtatanggol mo ang anak mo pero hangga’t okay si Daniel, hangga’t relaxed lang siya, hangga’t ayaw niyang patulan ang lahat ng ito, eh okay lang ako,” explained Estrada.
Aside from defending her loving son, the former teen actress during her early days in the showbiz industry called for respect that hecklers are a regular sight at her own and her son’s concerts. She was quoted saying “Sa aming mga artista, nakaka-experience talaga kami ng ganoon,” Estrada said. “Ako nga sa edad kong ito, mayroon pa ngang [nambabastos] — hindi mo naman kasi mapipigilan.”
“Iba-iba timpla, iba-iba ang tao pero siyempre ingat lang tayo. Lahat kasi ng hindi natin ginagawang maganda, may balik iyan sa iyo.”
