Mayor Rodrigo Duterte Widens Lead in the Final SWS Survey Results

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte continued its dominance in various survey as he widens lead against his presidential opponents in the final Social Weather Station survey. The latest SWS survey results was published on BusinessWorld late Thursday night.

According to BusinessWorld and SWS Mayor Duterte got 33 percent voting preference among registered Filipino voters who wanted him to be the next President of the Republic of the Philippins. The BusinessWorld-SWS pre-election survey was conducted May 1 to May 3, 2016.

The survey was conducted through face-to-face interview with 4,500 validated voters nationwide with a sampling of error margin ± 1 point.

Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s closest rival, Senator Grace Poe, slipped to 22 percent from 24 percent from the preceding April 8-20 survey. The standard bearer of the administration party’s Liberal Party, Mar Roxas II’s remains at 20 percent from his previous 19 percent ratings.

Former survey front-runner Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” C. Binay slipped to 13 percent from his previous 14 percent ratings, he also keeps on berating during various interviews that he doesn’t believe in surveys anymore.

The most popular candidate among students and the youths, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago still got 2 percent flat from her previous score. The BusinessWorld-SWS survey results also stated that four percent of the voting population were still undecided.
