According to some sources closed to the senator, the adopted daughter of Fernando Poe Jr., met on Wednesday with INC Minister Eraño, the senator was spotted at the lobby of Cordera’s office, accompanied by Mike Defensor, a former Quezon City representative and member of the Cabinet of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Sources revealed that the meeting between Sen. Grace Poe and the officials of the INC lasted for an hour, the senator was seen wearing her signature white dress. She arrived at the reception area of the INC where politicians seeking the support of the influential religious sect are usually seated.

Sen. Grace Poe already confirmed her meeting with Cordera but she noted that her visit at the INC Temple is just a part of her visit to various groups and she did not ask for INC’s support. “It was simply a brief meeting marked by an exchange of ideas and views, and at no time was there any asking of support,” Poe said.

The presidential candidate also denied the speculations posted online that Defensor was part of her campaign team. In the history of Philippine politics, the INC endorsement is much sought after by candidates because of the sect’s vaunted bloc-voting power of around 2 million voters.
