Gab Valenciano Urged Pinoys to Forgive Pacquiao After his LGBT Statement

US-based artist Gab Valenciano, one of the popular YouTube artist in the country has urged Filipinos to forgive boxer-politician Manny Pacquiao, because of his previous achievement giving pride to the Philippines and not just look on his latest mistakes. Manny Pacquiao earned the ire of the LGBT community after describing peopel in a same-s.. marriage as “worse than animals.”

Gab Valenciano, the son of Kapamilya singer and veteran entertainer Gary Valenciano took to Facebook on Thursday to share his thoughts on Manny Pacquiao’s controversial remarks, the same statement that prompted the world’s leading apparel maker Nike to drop the boxer as one of it’s endorsers.

On Facebook, Gab Valenciano posted the following statement: “Sometimes legends make huge, earth-shattering mistakes, but I strongly believe he shouldn’t be dismantled after everything he’s done for so many people,” he wrote.

“Years of sacrificing his body for the greater good of Filipinos all around the world should not equate to his downfall by a single mistake. The man apologized. Let us try to forgive him,” he added.

Although Gab Valenciano came to the rescue and defended Manny Pacquiao he also clarified that the fighting congressman who is now running for Senator under UNA, does not have his support when it comes to his political career, as well as his stint in the PBA.

Gab Valenciano also gave a message to his fellow Born-Again Christians, whom he urged not to judge their fellow Filipinos based on gender preference. He also noted that like Manny Pacquiao, he supported Pacquiao for his stance against same-s.. marriage.
